On Wednesday, September 28, Hope Village had the opportunity to share with the local community that, truly, “There’s No Place Like Hope!”

Community members walked down the yellow brick road to see the difference that a forever home filled with 55 years of learning, love, and courage can make.

After making the trip down the yellow brick road, attendees were transported to our version of Oz through videos, villager presentations, the wonderful emcee skills of our Master of Ceremonies, Roy Green; and a compelling keynote speech from Former Houston Oilers and Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews. This event also served as an opportunity to recognize the people who make Hope Village a special place! Congratulations to our volunteer award winners: Theresa Graham of Bay Area Turning Point, Wayne Robinson of North Winds Construction, and the Friendswood Rotary Club.

Special thanks goes to all of our friends who made this possible: from our community breakfast committee, to our featured speakers, to the Dancing Dorothy’s from the Bay Area Houston Ballet, to the members of the Hope Village Rotaract chapter.  We also truly appreciate our event’s sponsors for helping bring Oz to life:  The Brizendine Family, Home Bank, Buffalo Catering Co., and Higginbotham Insurance.
