SERVICES WE OFFER

At Hope Village, we offer both full-time residential services, as well as day programs to those that qualify.

ACTIVITIES AND RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

The Hope Village staff provides a nurturing environment that facilitates personal growth, independence, and self-fulfillment. Full-time residential services are available to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who meet the admissions criteria. Semi-private and private rooms are available and include assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, nutritious meals, and 24-hour supervision and care in one of five forever-homes on the Hope Village campus.

All Villagers are encouraged to participate in a variety of social activities designed to meet their unique needs. On-campus activities include arts and crafts projects, Bingo, sing-a-longs with live piano music, an individualized Recreation and Fitness program, and dances and parties. Hope Village also has its own outdoor pool, paved walking track, garden, commercial basketball hoop, and recreation center.

Hope Village is a community of celebration. Like most families, we host an array of events to celebrate the holidays, including a Villager Easter Egg Hunt, trick-or-treating, monthly birthday parties sponsored by a local Rotaract chapter, cookie decorating, and the annual Villager Christmas Concert. A community favorite, the Villager Christmas Concert typically sees 200+ people in attendance.

The Christmas concert is just one way in which Villagers become immersed in the local community. Local churches, schools, and community organizations welcome Villagers to participate in their events. As an example, Villagers may participate in a local Rotaract chapter, and our family and friends support group, Hearts of Hope, sponsors a Spring Dance and “Fun Day” each year. Villagers have also enjoyed the weekly “Joyful Hearts” service at Friendswood United Methodist Church, specifically designed for individuals with disabilities. Additionally, Hope Village provides an assortment of Villager field trips, including Astros baseball games, beachfront barbecues, fishing, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the local movie theater.

DAY PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT CENTER

In addition to residential services, Hope Village offers respite care and day care. The day program is a work program licensed by the U.S. Department of Labor and plays an integral role in the success of the Hope Village Developmental Center. Designed to develop self-confidence and a healthy work ethic, Villagers receive payment on a piece rate scale for each item they complete. Day program participants also receive life skills and computer training, have access to our Recreation and Fitness Program, and attend social activities both on and off-site.

The Hope Village Developmental Center includes a large work training area, fully equipped kitchen, ceramics manufacturing area, computer lab, gift shop and the Village Café. This 14,000 square foot building is home to our Day Program, which operates Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please note that specific offerings within the developmental center may be modified temporarily to mitigate the risks associated with COVID-19.

Contracts for services and work performed by the Villagers, such as packaging, collating, envelope stuffing, and sorting, come from businesses in the surrounding communities. We are always seeking additional contracts, so if you have a project that may be a good fit, please call (281) 482-7926.

If you are interested in applying for the Day Program, please sign up for our monthly tour and see Hope Village’s programs firsthand.
