Hope Village, a non-profit organization located in Friendswood that serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential and day program, will host a Fall Parking Lot Sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, in the large parking lot located behind the Hope Village Resale Shop.
The sale, which will take place on the southern-most part of the organization’s 18-acre campus, (accessible from Hope Village Road across from Clear Brook High School,) will include a variety of never-before-seen items from the resale shop’s vast storage building, including clothing, formal attire, toys, housewares, jewelry, electronics, furniture, books, seasonal items, home décor and more. (Please note: customers will need to be able to load and haul any items purchased during the sale. Assistance from Hope Village staff members will be limited.)
The event will serve as an alternate fundraising opportunity as the Hope Village Glitz & Glamour Style show previously scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 21, was canceled out of an abundance of caution due to continuing pandemic circumstances and the organization’s commitment to keeping its vulnerable population and staff members safe. The style show is one of three major annual fundraisers that has been canceled for the second year in a row. This has significantly impacted fundraising income, which is always an integral part of the overall budget.
In addition to shopping during the event, community members can support this effort by donating items to be included in the sale. Donations may be coordinated during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Fridays.) To do so, contact Hope Village’s Director of Community Development at (281) 400-2011.
All sale proceeds will directly benefit Hope Village programming and services.
